Autism Fitness in Erie!

This past week I had the opportunity to bring the Autism Fitness Initiative to Erie, PA. Educators, parents, and PE professionals joined in the fun. The purpose of the AFI is to share some important concepts and practical information about developing fitness programs for young individuals with autism and related disorders.

Of course, being a very hands-on, learn-by-doing sort of instructor, the day was broken up into short lecture and some small group activities that included animal movements, creating progressions and regressions for different exercise activities, and strategies for working with specific behavior issues. All of this would not be complete without a video that features the biggest frog hop and 2nd biggest group bear walk ever at an Autism Fitness Initiative.

Some BIG things are happening with Autism Fitness. Among them will be my teleseminar with Karen Simmons of Autism Today on May 12th. More details and sign-up info to come!
