Ropes gone Wild and Autism Fitness

By

For nearly two years now I have been incorporating rope swing variations into programs for my athletes with autism, as well as my own fitness training.  The ropes have numerous benefits, the predominate virtues being safety and a wide variety of effective exercises that specifically target strength endurance, upper body pulling power, and coordination/rhythm. I use and recommend the Ropes Gone Wild version, from Anthony DiLugio’s Art of Strength. The new designer series of ropes combines funky colors with a covering that protects the rope from damage or fraying.  The children, adolescents, teens, and young adults with autism whom I work with love swinging the ropes around. Below is an introduction to some of my favorite swings patterns.
